Job Title: Medical Assistant
As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to ensure the efficient operation of our practice. You will support our doctor, nurse practitioners, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient appointments. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a friendly and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities
- Monitor’s schedule and organizes patient flow for physician office visits or in-office procedures
- Accompanies patients to exam room; collects patient history and provides physical assessments as delegated by the physicians
- Obtain patient vital signs and body composition analysis
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
- Schedules and obtains results for lab or radiology procedures; interprets and accurately communicates results to physicians and patients as necessary
- Manages and prep the patient charts to ensure clinical information is completed and filed appropriately
- Update medical records and draw labs as needed.
- Stock rooms and ensure all products are OSHA compliant
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
- Manage Athena buckets, voicemails, and callbacks
- Stock rooms and ensure all products are OSHA compliant
- Has knowledge of drug uses and dosage requirements; ensures sample medications are up to date
- Calls in prescription refills to pharmacies as needed
- Performs emergency life-saving procedures if necessary
- Cross trains and performs other office functions including phone triage, check-in/check-out, scheduling, pre-certification, or medical records as directed by the Office Manager
- Accurately provides or counsels patients and/ or relatives with pertinent information regarding medical treatment or procedures
- Any other duties and/or special projects as assigned
- Answers emails and voicemails and returns patient calls in a timely and efficient manner
- Abides by and promotes HIPAA compliance; maintains the strictest confidentiality with regards to patient information
- Participates in staff meetings as directed by the Office Manager
- Participates in marketing activities as directed by the Office Manager
- Performs upkeep for exam and specialty procedure room with regards to sterilization and infection control, supplies, and equipment
- In-office procedures
- Communicate with insurance companies when needed for precertification of procedures
- Inventory and stock of back-office supplies
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Maintain office cleanliness throughout the day
Qualifications:
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- Detail-oriented and Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
